Our brand
We take everyday, deeply functional objects and approach them with intention, color, and a sense of play.

Our goal is to make things that feel alive. Pieces that hold their own. Objects that you reach for daily, but never stop noticing.

We begin with baby goods because early parenthood is one of the most transformative and identity-shifting chapters there is. It deserves better than beige.

Our baby products are designed with a point of view: bold, thoughtful, and gender-fluid, made for modern families who want beauty and function to coexist.

These are pieces meant to move with you through the mess, the motion, and the magic of daily life.
Our name
It started with a feeling. It’s the feeling of moving through the world with a quiet awareness that you’re different, and not always sure where that difference belongs.

“Gauche” has long been shorthand for awkward. We’ve been given messages that our awkwardness should be hidden and we should instead conform to a certain ideal. We see it differently.

Here, gauche is the idea of embracing our deep individuality. It’s about unabashed, joyful self-expression—a celebration of unique identity and voice.

Gauche is where playfulness can thrive. Because guess what—being yourself (yes, just plain being yourself!) is extraordinary.

The name Maison Gauche is also an homage to the Rive Gauche in Paris, where creatives, artists, and philosophers used to connect and build community. The Rive Gauche was place where people who may have felt out of place in the mainstream found belonging.

We draw our inspiration from these sources.
Founder’s Story

For as long as I can remember, I've felt a little gauche. A little awkward. A little out of place. A little different from everyone around me.

As a child, I was drawn to making things.

At eleven, I taught myself to sew and quickly discovered something that would shape the rest of my life: creativity wasn't just something I enjoyed—it was how I understood myself and the world around me.

What started with handmade projects and a first sewing machine soon grew into a lifelong love of design, fashion, and self-expression. As I got older, that love deepened. I spent countless hours thrifting, studying fashion magazines, teaching myself new skills, and developing an aesthetic that rarely fit neatly into the expectations around me.

While there were moments when standing apart felt lonely, creating always gave me a sense of purpose and belonging.
By the time I was eighteen, I had launched my first bag company, designing one-of-a-kind pieces from vintage fabrics and found materials. It wasn't a scalable business, but it taught me something important: I was happiest when I was making things that reflected a unique point of view.

Life, of course, had other plans.

Over the years, there were seasons of building, seasons of survival, and seasons of uncertainty. I became a parent. I started businesses. I worked hard, learned hard lessons, and discovered strengths I didn't know I possessed.

Along the way, I built a life, but somewhere in the process, I lost touch with parts of myself that had always felt essential—my creativity, my voice, my sense of play, and the confidence to take up space exactly as I was.

For a long time, I believed that those parts of me were gone.

Then one day, they started finding their way back. As I began reconnecting with myself, I realized something that now feels obvious: the things that had made me feel different throughout my life were never weaknesses.

They were the source of my creativity, resilience, and joy.

The goal was never to fit in. The goal was to become more fully myself.

Maison Gauche was born from that realization.

I believe that there is beauty in being different, that creativity deserves room to flourish, and that no one should have to shrink themselves to feel accepted.

To me, being gauche means having the courage to be fully, unapologetically yourself.

My hope is that when you carry, wear, or use a Maison Gauche product, you're reminded of that truth: that your uniqueness is something to celebrate, that your voice matters, and that you belong exactly as you are.

Go gauche!
